dailyish photo: new bicycle helmets

The other day we bought new bicycle helmets. I chose a Giro Indicator and I like it because it has a little adjustment wheel on the back so it fits snuggly but it's not headache inducing, and it's really well ventilated. It was on sale at REI, and the one I picked (White/Silver) is even cheaper on Amazon [1] right now. Yay for bicycling.

thing I like: Slice packaging cutter

[1]

This is a Slice [2] ceramic safety cutter meant for opening clamshell packaging. I manage to get papercuts from anything sharp and flat so last Christmas I grabbed one of these in the hopes of avoiding the frustration and the blood and the pain. Opening gifts should not be associated with pain. This has an incredibly tiny ceramic blade in the tip that is just big enough to cut through sturdy plastic packaging but too small to cut skin.

I was really delighted when I found there is a small magnet inside so you can keep this on a fridge or a magnet board, so handy. It's photographed above hanging out with the spring clips and fortune cookie fortunes that I keep handy over my kitchen counter. We've even started using our little cutter to slice through tape to open boxes. It's turned out to be my favorite gadget. Slice makes a range of ceramic products for the office and kitchen and I have my eye on the Precision Cutter [3] as well. Both the Safety Cutter [4] and Precision Cutter [5] are also available at Amazon.

Funny thing? The Safety Cutter comes in the very packaging it's designed to open more easily:

HP Project Runway challenge, episode 2, the one with unconventional materials

The second episode of this season of Project Runway [1] was one of the familiar unconventional materials challenges. This time it was a pet store. I love the shopping scenes for these episodes. I also love how Tim Gunn looks even better with a real world backdrop.

Here is my design:

And here is how I imagine this came about:

I originally grabbed a huge amount of of colorful rubber and stuffed dog and cat toys thinking I could suspend them, or maybe make a super chic version of Flea's pants [2]. Or something. My mind was blank. I spent far too much time looking for a decorative domed bird cage to put over my model's head (they only had square!). In the last moments I grabbed a bunch of leather leashes, some chain and some oversized dog beds because they seemed like safe materials to have. I worked most of the first day trying to arrange the chew toys in a way that looked good but it just wouldn't work. I started cutting them apart hoping that a solution would present itself. Attaching them to a skirt was too literal, arranging them on a bodice looked to much like brightly colored chest hair. Tim's analysis was grim. I was out of my mind with worry. Tim gave me advice that was the very opposite of "make it work." I gave a frantic workroom interview clutching stuffed toys to the sides of my head.

Around 7pm I trashed everything and turned to my dog beds. I didn't have any time to dye the fabric so I had to go with the dull blue polyester canvas. Great. I talked myself into a simple sheath dress with criss crossing leather leashes in the back. I hoped that decent construction would be enough to keep me in. I also created a fascinator with the feathers from the cat toys and I attached a pull-through chain training collar [3] to a leather clutch I grabbed off the accessories wall and wrapped it around my models wrist a few times. Is it against the rules to permanently alter the accessories? I hope not, I had to poke a huge hole in the corner of the leather to attach the chain.

My model rocked the dress on the runway, but it was obviously a very stiff fabric. The judges thought the look overall was boring, the back detail was interesting but they took off major points for using materials that were so obvious. In the end I just barely managed to stay out of the bottom three and was safe. I didn't even have to defend my choices and break down onstage to dramatically explain that I had started all over again.

Here is Scott [4]'s design:

Use of a live animal was certainly an unconventional material, and the producers loved the drama it created in the workroom and on the runway. (The dog ran straight over to Nina's legs and left a lipstick smeared lick mark!) Three of the four judges liked a dress made entirely from rawhide for the top spot but Nina liked Scott's look the best. And since we know that Nina always gets her way when it comes to a standoff in the judging, he won! Twitter was buzzing. Also, he gets immunity for the next challenge.

The end.

(A note: In reality Scott didn't misunderstand the challenge at all, he watched the episode with me. He had a packed schedule for the weekend and barely managed to find time to make a sketch. Since he was rushed he went with his very first instinct, and rightfully so since he won in my imaginary version of the episode!)

About the episode [5] that happened in reality: I was really impressed with the ways contestants looked at the options. Do you think Anthony's birdseed dress [6] should have won? I liked it over Olivier's wood shavings [7] look, but I do understand why the judges liked that one. I also really liked Fallene's orange aquarium [8] skirt but I agree that paired with the browns it wasn't shown as well as it could have been.

My go to site for smart and hilarious Project Runway commentary is Tom and Lorenzo [9], they've gathered the PR posts here [10]. Wanna know what they have to say about Bert's look last week? Of course you do [11].

A quick shout out to HP who sent me a TouchSmart [12] computer to create my imaginary designs using ArtRage [13] and the touch screen. Which is way fun. (They didn't pay me any money for this challenge or for my opinions.)

There are a bunch of fellow bloggers also taking part in the HP challenge, many of whom I had the pleasure to meet at Alt Summit [14] in the last two years. Go and see what they have come up with: Design Milk [15], Design Crush [16], Creature Comforts [17] and Freshly Picked [18]. Hi everybody! We're also doing a Twitter chat during the episodes, you can find us at #ProjectRunwayHP. I'm the only one over on the West coast so I'm an hour or two behind the others, please do join me next week (9pm PST).

And one last thing, Kat at Project Project Runway [19] put up this link to the Piper Lime Accessories Wall accessories [20]. I'll have to use that next week.

May Birthday Giveaway: good stuff from Rakka Deer

Today I'm happy to have a bunch of goods from local artist Rakka Deer [1], aka Kris. She's got style and wit, and she's got a huge number of projects going on at any given time. It amazes me. Besides Rakka Deer [2] and her Etsy shop [3] she has 37 Confections [4], Stupid Fucking Awesome [5], Excheckered [6], Pax and Ak [7], Skull Diggery [8], Suspect and Fugitive [9], a Tumblr [10] and Glitter Pissing [11]. She's offering up some good stuff from her shop: a six pack of geek cards [12], a thread painting [13] and a six pack of Inigo Montoya [14] cards featuring a drawing she did of the character over a pile of Hello My Name Is stickers (this still makes me laugh).

And while I'm talking about Rakka Deer please allow me to mention this: Recently the town she grew up in was devastated by the tornadoes and flooding along the Mississippi so she's raising money by holding a Bake Sale for the South [15], which is happening at the Cakespy Shop [16] here in Seattle on Saturday, May 14th at 11 a.m. I'll be baking for it (something in jars, but of course). Also on Saturday is the Great American Bake Sale
for ?Share Our Strength? at the uptown Metropolitan Market starting at 9:30 a.m. Two bake sales! Seattle is in luck.

To win the package of items from Rakka Deer please leave a comment with this website. You've got until Saturday, May 14th at 10 a.m. PST to enter, the fine print [17] applies. If you'd like something to chat about answer this question: What is your favorite thing to make for, or buy at, bake sales? Clearly I enjoy making stuff in jars. Alright, good luck!

daily-ish photo: bacon maple bar from Frost

We found ourselves out near Frost Donuts [1] (a short drive away from Seattle) so we stopped in. I'd read a lot about it but I wasn't prepared for how amazing the donuts look [2] (take a peek at that Aztec Chocolate, go on), how adorably designed the shop was, and how really, really good the donuts were. I didn't mean to eat this whole one but I did. We are definitely going to find a reason to swing by again soon.

May Birthday Giveaway: Hellimae?s Salt Caramels

[1]

What's going on here? This May marks 10 years of Not Martha. To celebrate I'm holding giveaways from some of my most favorite companies.

Today I've got a very exciting gift, a three-month subscription to Hellimae's Salt Caramels [2]. Each month you'll get a different flavor, maybe even something special she's thought up. I've had Hellimae's and they are something to behold, huge chunks of soft, buttery caramel with sparkling jewels of salt on top. They are delicious. Ellen, the proprietress, has only recently started offering a caramel subscription so please allow me to point out how lovely a gift this would make for a loved one with a sweet tooth.

If you'd like to win the 3-month subscription to Hellimae's Salt Caramels please leave a comment with this post. And if you'd like something to chat about answer this question: Have you ever made homemade caramel? I have, but the first time I attempted it I didn't own a candy thermometer and they turned out burnt. And not good-burnt either. Ok, you've got until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11th to enter, the fine print [3] applies and due to the perishable nature of the caramels I'm afraid that we can only ship them to addresses inside the US and Canada (sorry). Good luck! Closed! Thank you to, wow, everybody who entered!

May Birthday Giveaway: CakeSpy Presents Sweet Treats for a Sugar-Filled Life

[1]

What?s going on here? My site started ten years ago this month and to celebrate I?m giving away something each weekday. Because I like you.

Todays giveaway is coming to you from the future. Well, sort of. Jessie Oleson, whom you might know as CakeSpy [2], has a book coming out later this year (late September is the most informed date I have heard, things change but this might not!) it's called CakeSpy Presents Sweet Treats for a Sugar-Filled Life [3] and she is happy to send a copy to one lucky winner. Just, you know, in September when the book actually exists. CakeSpy, as if you don't already know, is lover of all things sweet, purveyor of the history behind our favorite desserts, a most excellent illustrator with a certain favorite character (Cuppie, pictured here [4]), has a column [5] at Serious Eats, a real brick and mortar shop [6] here in Seattle, and a rabble rouser when it comes to the question of Cake vs. Pie [7].

If you'd like to win a (future) copy of the CakeSpy book just lease a comment with this post, and if you'd like please answer this question: Are you Team Pie or Team Cake? I hereby publicly declare myself Team Cake, pies are great but cake has a power I cannot deny. Ok, you've got until Saturday, May 21st at 10 a.m. PST to enter, the fine print [8], as always, applies. Good luck. Closed, thanks for entering!

May Birthday Giveaway: soaps from Product Body

What?s going on here? My site started ten years ago this month and to celebrate I?m giving away something each weekday. Because I like you.

Today I've got something that will help you clean up, a three pack of soaps from Product Body [1]. The soaps, from top to bottom, are Tea Party "A wonderful scent that evokes memories of lazy summers, Tea Party is like drinking honey-sweetened iced tea with lemon beside a patch of honeysuckle." Cubano "A shot of steaming Cuban espresso with chocolate shavings, served with vanilla bourbon, a sprinkle of cardamom and a dollop of cream. Made with real cocoa." Alabaster Sea Salt + Coconut Milk Bar "A pure white bar made with Pacific sea salt, there are no added scents or colors, just oils, sea salt and coconut milk to build copious amounts of lather and leave you incredibly soft." Is anybody else hungry right now? I've previously used Joanna's Crush On You [2] sugar scrub and found it to be perfection. Joanna is also offering a discount to Not Martha readers, that's you! Use NOTMARTHA15 for 15% off. Thanks Joanna! (Valid through June 15th, one coupon per customer.)

To win these excellent soaps please leave a comment with this entry, and if you'd like something to talk about answer this question: What are your fragrance notes in soaps and perfumes? I always go for citrus scents first. Green scents are my next favorite, I'm definitely a fan of the things that smell very fresh. May Birthday Giveaway: World of Geekcraft

[1]

Today is a bit of synchronicity, my month of giveaways coincided with the blog book tour for World of Geekcraft [2], Step-by-Step Instructions for 25 Super-Cool Craft Projects. The author is Susan Beal, a super cool lady who writes for Craft, Stitch, ReadyMade, CraftStylish, Geekcrafts.com, has her own site at West Coast Crafty [3] and whose many books have appeared on my site before (most recently see Modern Log Cabin Quilting [4]). But more importantly she is one of those people whom I've known online (and in person) forever, very close to a decade. To learn more about the World of Geekcraft book check out the blog [5] and you can find PDF instructions and templates for the Pow! Zap! Magnets right here [6]. The book tour is headed over to House on Hill Road [7] and Public School [8] tomorrow, go and visit.

If you'd like to win a copy of World of Geekcraft please leave a comment with this post. You've got until Friday, May 13th at 10 a.m. PST to enter, the fine print [9] applies. If you'd like something to mention answer this question: What was your favorite geeky tv show or movie when you were a kid? Me? I'm gonna have to go with Buck Rogers. Alright, good luck! Closed! Thanks for entering!

Mastica gelato at Fainting Goat

The other week I tried Mastica gelato at Fainting Goat [1] here in Seattle. Mastica is, according to the menu, a tree resin from the Greek Aisle Kronos, and according to the Greek friend I happened to be there with it's a traditional flavor. I expected it to taste like juniper or pine, or maybe to taste the way that pad of resin smells when a violinist resins their bow. But it wasn't like any of those things. It was delicate and herbal and not too sweet. Sort of refreshing, very interesting. I'm so glad I didn't go with the chocolate I had been thinking about on the way in.

The Commission Project

Jordan Ferney (Oh Happy Day! [1]) has a very talented husband, Paul, who creates amazing oil paintings. Last year they took a bunch of orders for paintings at half price and this year they are doing it again! It's called The Commission Project [2]. It's simple, you send a photo that you'd like as a painting by September 1st and you'll get it back as an oil painting by Christmas. It's the perfect present. And just think how relaxed you'll be knowing you've gotten that awesome gift thing checked off your list way in advance. Go see the gallery [3]. I love how he can pull emotions out of a photograph and amplify them in the painting.

This year Jordan asked me to contribute a photograph that could be used as an example. I sent in the photo above, and yes I know that it's horribly blurry. Let me explain, I took this photograph using my very first digital camera while sitting in a cafe at a moment I didn't really mean to take a photo. It was shortly after Scott and I moved all the way across the country to San Francisco and we were exploring our new city. I was holding up the camera but wasn't expecting to take a picture when I saw this moment where the colors behind Scott seemed to compose themselves so I hit the shutter button. For me it represents that time in our lives, shaky and a little impulsive but everything worked out. I'm so glad to be able to take that moment from a decade ago off of my hard drive and give it a home on our wall. Yay!

Strawberry Pizza

This weekend we visited a neighborhood favorite of ours, Flying Squirrel Pizza Company [1], and one of their specials was this pizza called The Strawberry Alarm: "An experiment that exceeded all expectations! This is soon to be one of our classics. Tomato sauce, mozzarella, Salumi coppa, organic strawberries, Laura Chenel goat cheese, and chopped walnuts. Spicy and sweet and incredible." It is good, and really interesting. The strawberries add a bit of sweetness, like with fig pizzas. It made me wonder if a strawberry and basil pizza would work out too.

photo: best case scenario emergency oil

When your car's oil light comes on while you're out running errands the night before a flight it's a really lucky thing that the nearest place to pull over is actually the parking lot of a drugstore that happens to sell oil. It's even luckier if you have a Scott [1] of your own who happens to be on his way home and can do all the dirty work for you.* While you're waiting for your Scott to arrive it is also very lucky if you happen to have a Car Kit [2] with scissors so you can improvise a funnel out of a water bottle. It's also pretty cool that the kit also contains individual handi-wipes to clean the hands of your Scott after he's done saving the car. And then you can pick up dinner from your neighborhood Italian place before you head home. Seriously though, the car kit has saved the day a number of times since I've had it. It's always so cheerful to realize that you do have that flashlight/tire gauge/sunscreen/safety pin/breath mint/pliers that you need.

* (For the record I definitely can put oil in my own car but he really was only minutes away and what the hell, it likely saved my favorite jeans from a nasty oil stain.)

May Birthday Giveaway: Made By Moxie

Today I have a wee finger puppet made by the amazing Moxie [1] for one lucky person. Moxie is a fiber artist and needle felting wool by hand is her usual (but not only) medium. She creates breathtakingly amazing sculptures, both large and small, some are lifelike and some hilarious while at the same time a bit heartbreaking. You can see some of her most recent work on her site: icons & totems & pieces of the past [2], a recent show in NYC, and her sets Hungry [3] and Hungry 2 [4] are hilarious. If you're interested in learning to needle felt keep an eye on her schedule, she teaches classes.

If you'd like win this sweet bit of the genius please leave a comment with this post. If you don't mind I'd love to know: Have you ever tried needle felting? I have, but I'm afraid it'll take a lot more practice for it to become something that could be called presentable. You've got until 10 a.m. PST Friday, May 6th to enter, the fine print [5] applies, good luck! Closed, thanks for entering!

May Birthday Giveaway: School House Craft

[1]

Welcome to Day #2 of my website's birthday month of giveaways! There is a bit more information here [2].

I'm very pleased to have a One Day pass to the School House Craft [3] conference happening here in Seattle Sept. 23rd to the 25th to give to a lucky somebody. School House Craft grew from the Conference for Creative Entrepreneurs that happened here last summer, and which was amazing and packed full of hard learned helpful information from small business owners. It's happening in the Phinney Neighborhood Center here, a charming community space in an old school which happens to be a favorite spot for a lot of the locals. More about the conference:

School House Craft [3] is a dynamic new three day conference for people wanting to gain the skills to run a successful creative small business.

Are you considering staring your own business or do you already own your own business that focuses on craft, art or design? Do you have a shop on etsy, sell to shops and galleries, sell at craft fairs or want to start a new venture turning your passion into a business? If the answer is yes this is the conference for you!

Do you have or want to set up a craft business and can you get yourself to Seattle in September? This is for you! To enter please leave a comment with this post, you have until Wednesday, May 4th at 10 a.m. PST to enter, the fine print [5] applies. If you'd like please answer this question: If you could spend your days doing any craft at all what would it be? I'll go first: After my recent work on the Papier-Mache Easter Eggs I think I would love to spend all day creating delicate pinatas while surrounded by colorful and cheerful tissue papers. OK, good luck everybody! Closed, thanks so much to all who entered! #48 is our winner and she's been contacted.

a road trip with Posterous

When Scott and I moved from Ohio to California we had the types of mobile phones that only make calls, remember those? While exploring our new state we would go to places that were amazing (the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite, the beach right there on the real actual ocean) and call our parents and say "guess where we are!" It seems like we blinked and here we are with phones that take photos and send email and so many ways of sharing our experiences with photos and video online.

[1]

I was thinking about this the other day when Posterous [2] got in touch to talk about about their Posterous Groups and privacy. They want to let us know that Posterous is an easy way you can share thoughts, photos, video and documents just with the people on your list. So Scott [3] and I decided to take a mini summer vacation to try it out.

We went for a one-day road trip. These are all photos we sent to our family Posterous Group (meaning each time we sent a photo it landed in the email of our family members almost right away) and which would be completely private except for the fact that, well, I'm showing them to you here. Below is what we learned on our trip:

East of Seattle are a few places that make for a nice day trip without it being too long of a car ride, which is especially nice if you have kids in the car or, like me, get car sick pretty easily. First on our list was Snoqualmie Falls [4]. We drove up to the just-redone park where you can get some great views of the falls. On the day we visited the water was rushing harder than we'd ever seen it before and the wind was picking up the mist and covering those of us on the viewing platforms.

Since the photos only go to your Posterous Group you don't have to worry about sending a slightly unflattering or just plain boring photo to a list or site where more people than you'd really like can see them. You mom loves you and wants to see your pretty face no matter what. (I was so cold and my hair was getting very wet in photo above. Hi Mom!)

Posterous is free (yay) and super simple to set up. It does two things, it works as a simple blogging platform to allow you to share whatever you'd like with the world, and it also allows you to set up Groups to share words, images, video and attachments with only those you'd like to while keeping it nice and private from everybody else. People in your Posterous Group can also send items to share so exchanging information or keeping in touch is as easy as possible. Examples! You need to see some examples, go here on Posterous [5] to peek at some sites. And look! The Maker Faire Daily [6] is a Posterous site, awesome.

The Salish Lodge [7] is perched on the land just next to the falls (you can see it in the first photo of the falls above). There has been an inn in that spot since 1919 (the current one was was rebuilt in the 80s). Salish Lodge has an amazing brunch menu and in particular the Country Breakfast is famous for being enormous and must be attempted at least once. Brunch and then a nice stroll along the park trails to view the falls is a good start (you might need to walk back and forth through the park more than once to recover from the meal). I hear the rooms in the lodge are nice. We've never stayed at the lodge but we have lingered in the lobby while pretending that we're staying there.

When you send a photo out using Posterous the email arrives in the inboxes of your group with the sendee being your own email address, so there is no confusion over who the message is coming from. Score one for making it easy on your family.

The town of Snoqualmie [8] is a very short drive just down the road and they display old trains all along the main street, which grew up along the train tracks there. A lot of them are available for you to climb on and in, I felt like we were getting away with something. We also saw a large wedding party out to get a group photograph (the bridesmaids were wearing navy dresses with bright yellow accents, it worked surprisingly well). We also saw a couple on bicycles who were both wearing large paper crowns and totally owning the look, I liked them immediately.

The photos you send to your Posterous Group are also collected in your Posterous account, all neat and tidy and together. You don't have to worry about sorting them or uploading them somewhere else later. I really fell for this feature, the album of the trip is ready for you right away with no extra work. Nice.

Snoqualmie also has train rides out of the Train Museum [9]! We watched as one passed by, we were a bit jealous of those on board. Scott's nephew and his dad would love this, so we have a reason to return.

Posterous sizes, orients, hosts and generally makes good the photos and video you send. Get your family members set up to all post to the group and this feature might also eliminate you getting emailed giant photos of your niece at her dance recital that take forever to download and are sideways when you open them. (Can you tell this happens to us? This happens to us.)

The next town over from Snoqualmie is North Bend [10]. It's a sweet little town surrounded by looming mountains. One is Mount Si [11], a popular hiking spot which we have yet to take on, I hear the view at the top is amazing. I'll take their word on it. North Bend is also home to Twede's Cafe [12], made famous by Twin Peaks. We didn't stop and have pie, we should have had pie!

On the way back to Seattle we stopped at the historic XXX Root Beer Drive-In [13] in Issaquah. The walls are covered with old rock-and-roll posters and souvenirs and classic car stuff, it's really something to behold.

While we were out we sent photos with descriptions and notes using the email on my phone and the Posterous app (requires iOS 4) on Scott's iPhone (there is an Android app as well). My iPhone is older and takes the grainy photos you're seeing, Scott's iPhone is shiny-new and takes nice photos. I also played with his Hipstamatic [14] photo app that day, I like it.

Since we were on vacation we took the opportunity to order the XXX signature burger, an enormous creation that is about 10 inches across. That mug of root beer? Also enormous. We split both but didn't finish either. Ok, maybe one of us finished their half of the burger.

It seems like every time we stop at XXX Root Beer there is a classic car show in the parking lot next door. Shiny and red!

Because the things you send to your Posterous Group only get sent out to your list (in our case family) you can show off your vacation photos immediately without letting the whole internet know something like: "Look! We're at the Grand Canyon! And we're obviously nowhere near home right now so go ahead and steal that giant television I posted a photo of last week!"

You can tell the people who make Posterous like you. They make it easy to share information with everybody, or just the ones that you'd like, using whichever way is most convenient for you. You can post using an app, by sending the information you'd like in an email (either from your computer or from your phone) or by using the Posterous website itself. Basically anywhere you might be. Handy. And Posterous knows just what to do with the words/photos/video you send when it gets there. I'm really impressed with the care that they put into everything.

Just so you know: This is a sponsored post from a company that I like.

what I?m up to

Stuff is going on! It's very exciting.

I contributed a project to 10 Simple Sunday Afternoon Crafts [1] which is published over on the shiny new Kirtsy, whose redo launched earlier this week. Lookin' good ladies. Huge thanks to Blogstar [2] for inviting me along. I showed how I use woodgrain contact paper [3] to repurpose various tins to use around the house. Yes that is a band-aid on my finger and it got there due to a paper cut unrelated to my project and the various sharp edged metal things I had been wielding for it.

Make Grow Gather [4] had me on for an episode of Lazy Summer Radio [5] and I talked about how much I like to find four leaf clovers. (The one pictured above was found in my front yard just last week.) Thanks again Kelly, come back soon!

For the next few weeks I'll be participating in a Project Runway [6] challenge thanks to the good people at HP, who sent me a TouchSmart [7] computer! I'll be doing my own version of the challenges the contestants are given, at least in digital format. I'm completely underqualified to do this so the results might be, well, let's just go with interesting.

I'll also be keeping an eye on the Project Project Runway [8] girls (Just Crafty Enough [9] and Craftroom [10]) who recreate the challenges on dolls. I loved what they did last season and I'm glad they are doing it again.

I have a list of good stuff [11] over at Supermarket [12]. Narrowing it down to 10 items was very difficult, I have about a hundred more bookmarked. Seriously.

I'll be speaking at Schoolhouse Craft [13] here in Seattle. I'm doing a panel on blogging with Blair from Wise Craft [14] and Molly from Orangette [15]. We're doing Blogging 101 on Friday, Sept 23rd at 12:30. The conference will be a collection of great people talking about the business of craft. If you need a recharge this will be where to do it, I came away last year feeling more inspired than I had in a while.

My husband Scott [16] has a few notable shows coming up. He is 1/2 of Kin to Stars [17], the other half is the very awesome Jerin Falkner [18]. Their very first show is coming up in over a week at Egan's [19] in Ballard (Seattle) on Saturday, August 6th at 9p.m. More details [20] on their Facebook events page. See you there? He also plays with Explone [21] and among their upcoming shows is a benefit to help cover the medical costs of a great girl who needs some help: We Heart Tracy Dart [22] at The Bridge, 7pm on Sunday, August 7th.
